Welcome...

The Founders of the United States of America built a government on a power base from the People. The Peoples' power of liberty was understood to be God-given, not government-granted. The People voluntarily cooperate to govern themselves mainly at local levels, then at State levels, and finally at Federal levels.

They rightfully distrusted distant Federal power, so they devised a rule book, the Constitution of the United States, to specify the basic relationship between the Federal government and the States' governments and the People. The design was to have a Federal government with strict boundaries around it; so, they allotted only a few designated powers to the Federal government with all other powers retained by the States and the People.

These designated powers are contained in Article I, Section 8, and there are only eighteen of them. The Federal Government is ONLY supposed to operate within those strictly limited powers. However, the last century in America has seen a massive move of the Federal Government outside of this box.

We must reform this relationship.

Central Planning and Prices

I continue to read the New York Times to explore the thoughts of the seriously misguided. Yet again, no disappointment there. THIS EDITORIAL falls squarely in the misguided column.

What’s amazing to me, is that the Editors are SO close to the truth here, but they just can’t seem to understand the fundamental problem. They suggest, correctly, that through government subsidization for health care insurance to an increasing number of citizens that total system costs will inevitably go up. Oh, so true. And that concept encompasses so much within it. And shockingly, the Editors get it. But, yet again they ..read more

The Bernanke Money Effect

A really well-done article this morning from the Wall Street Journal (CLICK HERE) for all of you amateur economists (like me). Also, it’s very important to understand that many pundits keep talking about “green shoots,” but either I’m color blind or they’re delusional. Increases in aggregate demand driven only by new dollars from the Fed does NOT constitute real green shoots of growth, just a fertilizer-driven green up without any true stem to back it up.

Thanks, Mr. Bernanke, for continuing the delusion that we actually have a ..read more

HELP is on the way

Paul Krugman writes again in the New York Times with his usual socialist, collectivist, statist fervor. As an economist, he is taking a macroeconomic view of the world, which means he views the world from the top down, as any “elite” person would. He views the world top down where government and the ruling, intellectual elites make decisions that affect the rest of us, for our own collective good–presumably because we’re just not capable.

Unconstitutional IOUs from California

I am once again amazed at the apparent illiteracy of our elected officials as it relates to our United States Constitution–both Democrats and Republicans.

The Republican Governor of California has authorized his State Controller to issue “registered warrants”

Palin’s Departure Speech

The mainstream media is calling Sarah Palin nuts and flighty. They’re calling her weak and thin-skinned. Just read for yourself, form your own opinion, without the media bias. Go to the source.
